21-22 October, 2010 – Vinkt & Ooidonk Castle (Belgium)
The city of Deinze (Belgium) in collaboration with the province of East Flanders and the Ename Center for Public Archaeology and Heritage Presentation organized a two days' workshop/academic session in remembrance of the atrocities that took place at the beginning of World War II in Vinkt. This event was honoured by the presence and participation of Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council. The focus of the event was how these events would play a role in the collective memory of the upcoming generations.
