„The Politics of Memory”
A conference organised by the Imperial War Museum and the Polish Cultural Institute in London, with support from The Henry Moore Foundation.

The Conference was an effort to examine, comment on, and redefine the idea of commemorative sculpture, as well as public remembrance and commemorative art. The pretext for the discussion was the Moore/Auschwitz display prepared by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews at Tate Britain in London and referencing to the architectural competition to commemorate the victims of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Camp (1958-1959) chaired by sculptor Henry Moore. The discussions at the Conference focused on the key issues of memorialisation in the contemporary art projects.
