Museum of Poles Who Saved Jews
I position in the competition
The Ulm Family of Markowa Museum of Poles Who Saved Jews in Podkarpacie
The dagger-shaped mass of the building, with a safe house facade, is strictly correlated with the future exhibition space. The interiors and the mass together will reference to the methods and spaces in which Poles hid Jews. For this purpose the mass of the building narrows to impart the sense of anxiety. The terrain adjacent to the museum will transform into a remembrance wood, while the names of the heroes, embedded in rainbow glass bricks, will illuminate the Remembrance Square.
